When I tried to make sense of this, it was troubling to me.

When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply

then I discerned all that God has done: No one really comprehends what happens on earth. Despite all human efforts to discover it, no one can ever grasp it. Even if a wise person claimed that he understood, he would not really comprehend it.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways!

For he will be handed over to the Gentiles; he will be mocked, mistreated, and spat on.They will flog him severely and kill him. Yet on the third day he will rise again.”But the twelve understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what Jesus meant.

So they kept on repeating,“ What is the meaning of what he says,‘ In a little while’? We do not understand what he is talking about.”Jesus could see that they wanted to ask him about these things, so he said to them,“ Are you asking each other about this– that I said,‘ In a little while you will not see me; again after a little while, you will see me’?

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”

Dark clouds surround him; equity and justice are the foundation of his throne.

Your justice is like the highest mountains, your fairness like the deepest sea; you preserve mankind and the animal kingdom.

You walked through the sea; you passed through the surging waters, but left no footprints.

Surely I am more brutish than any other human being, and I do not have human understanding;I have not learned wisdom, nor do I have knowledge of the Holy One.
