終日罹災害、清晨逢譴責兮。

我終日遭難、每晨受苦、

為善而遭殃。何苦自縛束。

All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.

Day after day I’ve been in pain. God has punished me in a new way every morning.

For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning.

I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain.

For I have been stricken all day long, And punished every morning.

For all day long I have been plagued, And chastened every morning.

For all the day long have I been plagued, And chastened every morning.

Why has my pain become unending, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You truly have become like a mirage to me— water that is not reliable.

You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials

I have known only you out of all the clans of the earth; therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or lose heart when you are reproved by him,

One who is righteous has many adversities, but the LORD rescues him from them all.

So I have been made to inherit months of futility, and troubled nights have been assigned to me.When I lie down I think,“ When will I get up?” But the evening drags on endlessly, and I toss and turn until dawn.

Is it good for you to oppress, to reject the work of your hands, and favor the plans of the wicked?

You produce new witnesses against me and multiply your anger toward me. Hardships assault me, wave after wave.

You inspect him every morning, and put him to the test every moment.

LORD, how happy is anyone you discipline and teach from your law
