May he rule your people in the right way. May he be fair to those among your people who are hurting.

For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight.

“ Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the Lord.“ I will put the one who longs for it in a safe place.”

God is not partial to princes and does not favor the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of His hands.

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night. God said,“ Ask. What should I give you?”And Solomon replied,“ You have shown great and faithful love to Your servant, my father David, because he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and integrity. You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.“ Lord my God, You have now made Your servant king in my father David’s place. Yet I am just a youth with no experience in leadership.Your servant is among Your people You have chosen, a people too numerous to be numbered or counted.So give Your servant an obedient heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had requested this.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, He will not execute justice by what He hears with His ears,but He will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with discipline from His mouth, and He will kill the wicked with a command from His lips.Righteousness will be a belt around His loins; faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.

Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked.”

The result of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.

Your throne, God, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice.You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy more than your companions.

In those days and at that time I will cause a Righteous Branch to sprout up for David, and He will administer justice and righteousness in the land.
