垂老莫見絕。衰邁莫見棄。

Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.

Don’t push me away when I’m old. Don’t desert me when my strength is gone.

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.

And now, in my old age, don’t set me aside. Don’t abandon me when my strength is failing.

Don’t discard me in my old age. As my strength fails, do not abandon me.

For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.

Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver.

Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away.

They are planted in Yahweh’s house. They will flourish in our God’s courts.They will still produce fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,to show that Yahweh is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say,“ I have no pleasure in them;”Before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars are darkened, and the clouds return after the rain;in the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look out of the windows are darkened,and the doors shall be shut in the street; when the sound of the grinding is low, and one shall rise up at the voice of a bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;yes, they shall be afraid of heights, and terrors will be on the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goes to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets:before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the spring, or the wheel broken at the cistern,and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

I am eighty years old, today. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear the voice of singing men and singing women any more? Why then should your servant be a burden to my lord the king?

My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines.
