For you give me confidence, O Lord; O LORD, I have trusted in you since I was young.

主乃我之望。自幼所依恃。

For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.

You are the King and the Lord. You have always been my hope. I have trusted in you ever since I was young.

For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth.

O Lord, you alone are my hope. I’ve trusted you, O Lord, from childhood.

For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.

For You are my hope; Lord God, You are my confidence from my youth.

For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.

For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: Thou art my trust from my youth.

For You are my hope, Lord God, my confidence from my youth.

For thou[ art] my hope, O Lord GOD:[ thou art] my trust from my youth.

For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh, my confidence from my youth.

My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me.

I desperately long for your deliverance. I find hope in your word.

But now, O Lord, upon what am I relying? You are my only hope!

O God, you have taught me since I was young, and I am still declaring your amazing deeds.

Do not cause me dismay! You are my source of safety in times of trouble.

I hope for your deliverance, O LORD, and I obey your commands.

But David replied to the Philistine,“ You are coming against me with sword and spear and javelin. But I am coming against you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel’s armies, whom you have defied!This very day the LORD will deliver you into my hand! I will strike you down and cut off your head. This day I will give the corpses of the Philistine army to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the land. Then all the land will realize that Israel has a Godand all this assembly will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves! For the battle is the LORD’s, and he will deliver you into our hand.”

So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.

But Saul replied to David,“ You aren’t able to go against this Philistine and fight him! You’re just a boy! He has been a warrior from his youth!”David replied to Saul,“ Your servant has been a shepherd for his father’s flock. Whenever a lion or bear would come and carry off a sheep from the flock,I would go out after it, strike it down, and rescue the sheep from its mouth. If it rose up against me, I would grab it by its jaw, strike it, and kill it.Your servant has struck down both the lion and the bear. This uncircumcised Philistine will be just like one of them. For he has defied the armies of the living God!”David went on to say,“ The LORD who delivered me from the lion and the bear will also deliver me from the hand of this Philistine!” Then Saul said to David,“ Go! The LORD will be with you.”

You have been the object of Israel’s hopes. You have saved them when they were in trouble. Why have you become like a resident foreigner in the land? Why have you become like a traveler who only stops in to spend the night?

But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance!

You are the one in whom Israel may find hope. All who leave you will suffer shame. Those who turn away from you will be consigned to the nether world. For they have rejected you, the LORD, the fountain of life.

and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Yes, you are the one who brought me out from the womb and made me feel secure on my mother’s breasts.I have been dependent on you since birth; from the time I came out of my mother’s womb you have been my God.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.

Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.

All who encountered them devoured them. Their enemies who did this said,‘ We are not liable for punishment! For those people have sinned against the LORD, their true pasture. They have sinned against the LORD in whom their ancestors trusted.’

So remember your Creator in the days of your youth– before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you will say,“ I have no pleasure in them”;
