吾雖處困厄。知主必相援。保我於凶敵。解我之倒懸。

譬彼陳死人。寂寞杳冥鄉。久為主所絕。已為主所忘。處身幽壑中。黯澹不見光。聖怒加吾身。風濤不堪當。相識日以疎。視我為不祥。身困重重縛。末由脫其繮。愁多目已枯。呼主朝復暮。每每舉雙手。聊抒中心慕。開言問吾主。胡為長相苦。人死既瞑目。大猷誰復覩。氣絕已吞聲。寧能揚令譽。頌聲淪幽冥。雅音絕邱墓。誰在無光地。能將明德布。何以夙夜祈。不見主垂顧。吾命一何薄。自幼飽辛楚。每思主之威。恐怖塞臟腑。如何血肉身。能載主之怒。怒濤滅我頂。何日見恩撫。

耶穌大聲而呼曰：『伊理伊理！拉瑪撒巴大尼！』譯言『主兮主兮、胡為棄我如遺！』

賜我鍛鍊。如銀在鑪。加我困厄。勞我形軀。令彼敵人。虐我如奴。水深火熱。不遑寧居。試練既畢。惠以安舒。

惟攜伯鐸祿雅谷伯若望與俱。時心緒惶惶、不勝憂悶、告其徒曰：『吾心鬱悒、悲苦欲絕！爾曹留此儆守。』

予應之曰：「公自知之。」渠乃語予曰：若輩來自憂患中、備嘗艱辛、曾藉羔羊之血、自濯其袍、所服皜皜乎不可尚已；

豈仁主之怒吾族兮。亙百世而不改。

所望保吾魂。莫使淪幽冥。更望聖者身。免染朽腐痕。

彼為基督之臣僕乎？則恕我放肆、吾更是也。吾視若輩勞苦多矣、繫獄多次、受笞無數、且常處死地、屢遭不測、五次被鞭於猶太人、每次四十減一、三次受杖、一次石擊、三遭覆舟、飄於海中者一晝一夜、僕僕風塵、不遑寧息、時遭河汊之危、盜賊之難、邦人之厄、異域之苦、城市之驚、曠野之困、海洋之險、及偽兄弟之陷害：備嘗艱辛、終夜不寐、載飢載渴、時復齋戒、忍苦耐勞、寒而無衣。凡此猶屬外事、若諸會之事、尤為予所日日挂心者。孰餒而予不為之餒？孰蹶而予不為之焦心如焚？吾若欲誇、其惟自誇其弱歟！吾主耶穌基督之父、永遠可頌之天主、固知吾之誠實無誑也。

夫既云上昇、則其先已降入地下可知矣。

天主為解苦厄、使之復活、死固不足以限之也。

天主之復活耶穌、吾儕實為見證。迨天主以右手舉而升之、渠乃受所許之聖神、遂以此神傾注於吾人、是即爾曹所親睹親聞者也。大維未升於天、第云「天主語吾主、安坐我右側；
