Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto[ this] generation,[ and] thy power to every one[ that] is to come.

上帝歟、我老年皓首時、勿遺棄我、俟我宣爾力於後世、述爾能於來者兮、

今我年邁、皓然白首、毋我遐棄、我將以爾能力、訓誨斯世、爰及後人兮、

我至年老髮白之時、求天主仍莫遐棄我、我將以主之大力、傳揚於來世、以主之大能、指示將生在世之人、

白髮莫相違。俾竟平生志。綦願將大德。宣示我後裔。

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.

God, don’t leave me even when I’m old and have gray hair. Let me live to tell my children about your power. Let me tell all of them about your mighty acts.

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.

Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.

Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come.

And even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.

Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not, Until I have declared thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.

Even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me. Then I will proclaim Your power to another generation, Your strength to all who are to come.

Even when I am old and gray, O God, do not abandon me, until I tell the next generation about your strength, and those coming after me about your power.

Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

And[ even] to[ your] old age I[ am] he; and[ even] to hoar hairs will I carry[ you]: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver[ you].

We will not hide[ them] from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What[ is] this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not[ through] the way of the land of the Philistines, although that[ was] near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.[ Art] thou not it that hath cut Rahab,[ and] wounded the dragon?

They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done[ this].

And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying,[ This is done] because of that[ which] the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

That the generation to come might know[ them, even] the children[ which] should be born;[ who] should arise and declare[ them] to their children:

Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see.

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed[ be] thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.Thine, O LORD,[ is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all[ that is] in the heaven and in the earth[ is thine]; thine[ is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.Both riches and honour[ come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand[ is] power and might; and in thine hand[ it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all.Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.But who[ am] I, and what[ is] my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things[ come] of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.For we[ are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as[ were] all our fathers: our days on the earth[ are] as a shadow, and[ there is] none abiding.O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name[ cometh] of thine hand, and[ is] all thine own.I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all[ these things], and to build the palace,[ for] the which I have made provision.And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day,[ even] a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams,[ and] a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed[ him] unto the LORD[ to be] the chief governor, and Zadok[ to be] priest.Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him[ such] royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.And the time that he reigned over Israel[ was] forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three[ years] reigned he in Jerusalem.And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they[ are] written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold,[ here am] I.
