They say,“ God has abandoned him. Let’s go and get him, for no one will help him now.”

僉曰主所絕。彼又無人濟。吾人盍追擊。執之反掌易。

They say,“ God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him.”

They say,“ God has deserted him. Go after him and grab him. No one will save him.”

and say,“ God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver him.”

saying,“ God has abandoned him; chase him and catch him, for there is no one to rescue him.”

Saying,“ God has abandoned him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to save him.”

Saying, God hath forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.

They say,“ God has abandoned him. Run and seize him, for there is no one who will rescue him!”

If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.

So many are saying,“ God will never rescue him!” Selah. The meaning of this word is uncertain, though it is probably a musical or literary term. It is rendered Interlude throughout the Psalms.

I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments. But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?”

Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.

Repent, all of you who forget me, or I will tear you apart, and no one will help you.

“ Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power?Which of their gods was able to rescue its people from the destructive power of my predecessors? What makes you think your God can rescue you from me?

At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice,“ Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means“ My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

But the rest said,“ Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”

All who hate me whisper about me, imagining the worst.“ He has some fatal disease,” they say.“ He will never get out of that bed!”

“ He saved others,” they scoffed,“ but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him!He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die.

Their taunts break my bones. They scoff,“ Where is this God of yours?”
