謂我見絶於上帝、援手無人、可襲取兮。

云、天主已棄之、可以追而執之、必無人救援、

僉曰主所絕。彼又無人濟。吾人盍追擊。執之反掌易。

They say,“ God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him.”

But if you do not worship, you will immediately be thrown into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire; and what god is there who can rescue you from my hands?”

I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging for bread.

“ Now consider this, you who forget God, Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be no one to save you.

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to save their land from my hand?Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed who could save his people from my hand, that your God would be able to save you from my hand?

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ Eli, Eli, lema sabaktanei?” that is,“ My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

But the rest of them said,“ Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”

All who hate me whisper together against me; They plot my harm against me, saying,“ A wicked thing is poured out upon him, So that when he lies down, he will not get up again.”

“ He saved others; He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.He has trusted in God; let God rescue Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’ ”

For the Lord loves justice And does not abandon His godly ones; They are protected forever, But the descendants of the wicked will be eliminated.

As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries taunt me, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”
