我的仇敵議論我，那些想殺害我的一起策劃陰謀，說：

因為我的仇敵議論我；那些窺探著要害我性命的，一同商議，

因為我的仇敵議論我；那些窺察着、要害我性命的、一同商議，

因為我的仇敵議論我，伺機要害我命的人一同商議，

蓋敵論我、伺索我命者同謀兮、

為余之敵者、謗毀沸騰、害予之命者、眾論僉同、

因我仇敵議論我、暗俟欲害我命、彼此商議、

不聞眾狡敵。狺狺向我吠。群姦窺吾命相聚議詭計。

For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together.

My enemies speak against me. Those who want to kill me get together and make evil plans.

For my enemies speak concerning me; those who watch for my life consult together

For my enemies are whispering against me. They are plotting together to kill me.

For my enemies talk about me, and those who spy on me plot together,

For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,

For my enemies speak against me; And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together,

For my enemies talk about me, and those who spy on me plot together,

For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

For my enemies talk about me; those waiting for a chance to kill me plot my demise.

For my enemies talk about me. Those who watch for my soul conspire together,

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, They mark my steps, Even as they have waited for my soul.

Now when morning was come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

They take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.

The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against Jehovah, and against his anointed, saying,

He lurketh in secret as a lion in his covert; He lieth in wait to catch the poor: He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.

For I have heard the defaming of many, Terror on every side: While they took counsel together against me, They devised to take away my life.

Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:and I will come upon him while he is weary and weak- handed, and will make him afraid; and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only;and I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not, speak thou.And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given this time is not good.Hushai said moreover, Thou knowest thy father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field; and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them are fallen at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.And even he that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt; for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they that are with him are valiant men.But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together unto thee, from Dan even to Beer- sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground; and of him and of all the men that are with him we will not leave so much as one.Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absalom.

If they say, Come with us, Let us lay wait for blood; Let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause;

And Saul sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to- night, to- morrow thou wilt be slain.

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.
