O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced.

In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge: Let me never be put to shame.

In you, Yahweh, I take refuge. Never let me be disappointed.

My God, I trust in you. Please do not let me be humiliated; do not let my enemies triumphantly rejoice over me!Certainly none who rely on you will be humiliated. Those who deal in treachery will be thwarted and humiliated.

In you, O LORD, I have taken shelter! Never let me be humiliated! Vindicate me by rescuing me!Listen to me! Quickly deliver me! Be my protector and refuge, a stronghold where I can be safe!For you are my high ridge and my stronghold; for the sake of your own reputation you lead me and guide me.

For it says in scripture,“ Look, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen and priceless cornerstone, and whoever believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion; it cannot be upended and will endure forever.

To you they cried out, and they were saved; in you they trusted and they were not disappointed.

May those who persecute me be disgraced. Do not let me be disgraced. May they be dismayed. Do not let me be dismayed. Bring days of disaster on them. Bring on them the destruction they deserve.”

How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Israel will be delivered once and for all by the LORD; you will never again be ashamed or humiliated.

just as it is written,“ Look, I am laying in Zion a stone that will cause people to stumble and a rock that will make them fall, yet the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

They received divine help in fighting them, and the Hagrites and all their allies were handed over to them. They cried out to God during the battle; he responded to their prayers because they trusted in him.

He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; in this regard there was none like him among the kings of Judah either before or after.
