If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me( Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary;)

我若以恶报那与我交好的人（连那无故与我为敌的，我也救了他），

我若以恶回报我的朋友，连那无故与我为敌的，我也救了他，

我若以恶回报我的朋友，连那无故与我为敌的，我也救了他，

倘若我恩将仇报，无故抢夺仇敌，

如果我以恶回报那与我为友的人，或是无故掠夺与我为敌的人，

如果我恶待那与我和好的人，或是无故掠夺我的敌人，

我若以惡報那與我交好的人－連那無故與我為敵的，我也救了他，

我若以惡回報我的朋友，連那無故與我為敵的，我也救了他，

我若以惡回報我的朋友，連那無故與我為敵的，我也救了他，

倘若我恩將仇報，無故搶奪仇敵，

如果我以惡回報那與我為友的人，或是無故掠奪與我為敵的人，

我若以惡報那與我友好的人，或無緣無故劫掠與我為敵的人，

如果我惡待那與我和好的人，或是無故掠奪我的敵人，

與我交厚者、以惡報之、無端仇我者、反拯救之、

我若惡報與我交好之人、或搶奪無故與我為仇之人、

倘吾曾為此。有罪在雙腕。

if I have repaid my ally with evil or without cause have robbed my foe—

Or I have done evil to my friend. Or I have robbed my enemy without any reason.

if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,

if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause,

if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,

If I have done evil to my friend, Or have plundered my enemy for no reason,

If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,

if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me;( yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

or have wronged my ally, or helped his lawless enemy,

if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me( yes, I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),

So David checked his men with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. And Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.

He hath put forth his hands against such as were at peace with him: He hath profaned his covenant.

And they have rewarded me evil for good, And hatred for my love.

Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered thee to- day into my hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee; but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is Jehovah’s anointed.Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against thee, though thou huntest after my life to take it.Jehovah judge between me and thee, and Jehovah avenge me of thee; but my hand shall not be upon thee.As saith the proverb of the ancients, Out of the wicked cometh forth wickedness; but my hand shall not be upon thee.After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.Jehovah therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thy hand.

The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; But Jehovah trieth the hearts.

And when they were gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?

And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not; for who can put forth his hand against Jehovah’s anointed, and be guiltless?And David said, As Jehovah liveth, Jehovah will smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall go down into battle and perish.Jehovah forbid that I should put forth my hand against Jehovah’s anointed: but now take, I pray thee, the spear that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let us go.So David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul’s head; and they gat them away: and no man saw it, nor knew it, neither did any awake; for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from Jehovah was fallen upon them.Then David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of the mountain afar off; a great space being between them;and David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who art thou that criest to the king?And David said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept watch over thy lord the king? for there came one of the people in to destroy the king thy lord.This thing is not good that thou hast done. As Jehovah liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not kept watch over your lord, Jehovah’s anointed. And now see where the king’s spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his head.And Saul knew David’s voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.

Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David; for I will no more do thee harm, because my life was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who among all thy servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son- in- law, and is taken into thy council, and is honorable in thy house?

Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember how I stood before thee to speak good for them, to turn away thy wrath from them.Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword; and let their wives become childless, and widows; and let their men be slain of death, and their young men smitten of the sword in battle.

And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?

And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rendered unto me good, whereas I have rendered unto thee evil.And thou hast declared this day how that thou hast dealt well with me, forasmuch as when Jehovah had delivered me up into thy hand, thou killedst me not.For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore Jehovah reward thee good for that which thou hast done unto me this day.

And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of Jehovah, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.

Forgive, I pray thee, the trespass of thy handmaid: for Jehovah will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fighteth the battles of Jehovah; and evil shall not be found in thee all thy days.And though men be risen up to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul, yet the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with Jehovah thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as from the hollow of a sling.

And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee- ward very good:for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Jehovah wrought a great victory for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice; wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
