我之上帝耶和華兮、曷敢維惡是作、彼夫夙昔交厚兮、待之薄、無因仇我兮、報之酷、吾而有是兮、

主我之天主歟、我若行此、我手中若有不義之事、

彼人兇如獅。吞我心方快。除主復何恃。不救吾其殆。

Lord my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands—

Lord my God, suppose I have done something wrong. Suppose I am guilty.

O LORD my God, if I have done what they say, or am guilty of unjust actions,

Yahweh, my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,

So, my father, look! Indeed, look at the edge of your robe in my hand! For by the fact that I cut off the edge of your robe but did not kill you, know and understand that there is no evil or rebellion in my hands, and I have not sinned against you, though you are lying in wait for my life, to take it.

This is what Shimei said when he cursed:“ Go away, go away, you man of bloodshed and worthless man!The Lord has brought back upon you all the bloodshed of the house of Saul, in whose place you have become king; and the Lord has handed the kingdom over to your son Absalom. And behold, you are caught in your own evil, for you are a man of bloodshed!”

“ The Mighty One, God, the Lord, the Mighty One, God, the Lord! He knows, and may Israel itself know. If it was in rebellion, or if in an unfaithful act against the Lord, do not save us this day!

He also said,“ Why then is my lord pursuing his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?Now then, please let my lord the king listen to the words of his servant. If the Lord has incited you against me, may He accept an offering; but if it is people, cursed are they before the Lord, because they have driven me out today so that I would have no share in the inheritance of the Lord, saying,‘ Go, serve other gods.’

So deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the Lord with you. But if I am guilty of wrongdoing, kill me yourself; for why then should you bring me to your father?”

Although there is no violence in my hands, And my prayer is pure.“ Earth, do not cover my blood, And may there be no resting place for my cry.Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And my advocate is on high.

And David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of men who say,‘ Behold, David is seeking to harm you’?

Saul then said to him,“ Why have you and the son of Jesse conspired against me, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, so that he would rise up against me by lying in ambush as it is this day?”
