Who[ is] among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh[ in] darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

Many sorrows[ shall be] to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

But the LORD[ is] with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper:[ their] everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

And Ziba said, The asses[ be] for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.And the king said, And where[ is] thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine[ are] all that[ pertained] unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee[ that] I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name[ was] Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men[ were] on his right hand and on his left.And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial:The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou[ art taken] in thy mischief, because thou[ art] a bloody man.Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now[ may this] Benjamite[ do it]? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.And the king, and all the people that[ were] with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.And Absalom said to Hushai,[ Is] this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.And again, whom should I serve?[ should I] not[ serve] in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that[ are] with thee be strong.So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days,[ was] as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so[ was] all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

Consider[ and] hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the[ sleep of] death;

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself[ thus]; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed[ to the yoke]: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou[ art] the LORD my God.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust[ in thee] from those that rise up[ against them].Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,From the wicked that oppress me,[ from] my deadly enemies,[ who] compass me about.

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD;[ therefore] I shall not slide.

[ A Psalm] of David. Plead[ my cause], O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.Draw out also the spear, and stop[ the way] against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I[ am] thy salvation.

And ye shall flee[ to] the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come,[ and] all the saints with thee.

O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies[ upon] the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

To the end that[ my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Put not your trust in princes,[ nor] in the son of man, in whom[ there is] no help.His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.Happy[ is he] that[ hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope[ is] in the LORD his God:Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein[ is]: which keepeth truth for ever:

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls[ to him] in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

He shall cry unto me, Thou[ art] my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee[ as] a bird to your mountain?

Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.And whiles I[ was] speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

The LORD[ is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation,[ and] my high tower.

And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
