If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty,“ I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.

He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured.”

and,“ A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message— which is also what they were destined for.

While people are saying,“ Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
