天主歟、主曾降甘雨、滋潤主之地、其疲乏時、主使之復蘇、

天地震搖。西乃惶惶。沛然降雨。以潤焦土。

You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.

God, you gave us plenty of rain. You renewed your worn- out land.

Rain in abundance, O God, you shed abroad; you restored your inheritance as it languished;

You sent abundant rain, O God, to refresh the weary land.

You, God, showered abundant rain; you revived your inheritance when it languished.

You made plentiful rain fall, God; You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched.

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, Thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people. When they are tired, you sustain them,

Had rained down manna on them to eat, And given them of the bread of heaven.Men ate angels’ food; He sent them food to the full.He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind.He also rained meat on them like the dust, Feathered fowl like the sand of the seas;

then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.

You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it.You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side.The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.

The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled.The clouds poured out water; The skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about.

For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden;but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven,a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.
