You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.

God, you gave us plenty of rain. You renewed your worn- out land.

Rain in abundance, O God, you shed abroad; you restored your inheritance as it languished;

O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people. When they are tired, you sustain them,

And he rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them food from heaven.Man did eat the bread of the mighty: He sent them food to the full.He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens; And by his power he guided the south wind.He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, And winged birds as the sand of the seas:

that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy grain, and thy new wine, and thine oil.

And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in its season; there shall be showers of blessing.

For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs;but the land, whither ye go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven,a land which Jehovah thy God careth for: the eyes of Jehovah thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
