When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.

When he went up to his place on high, he took many prisoners. He received gifts from people, even from those who refused to obey him. The Lord God went up to live on Mount Zion.

You ascended on high, leading a host of captives in your train and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God may dwell there.

When you ascended to the heights, you led a crowd of captives. You received gifts from the people, even from those who rebelled against you. Now the Lord God will live among us there.

You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

Therefore it says,“ When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.”( Now this expression,“ He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

“ Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, sing a song! Arise, Barak, and lead away your captives, son of Abinoam.

So that He abandoned the dwelling place at Shiloh, The tent which He had pitched among people,

Who may ascend onto the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place?

God has ascended with a shout, The Lord, with the sound of a trumpet.

He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying,“ Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

The Lord says to my Lord:“ Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen.To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of things regarding the kingdom of God.Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised,“ Which,” He said,“ you heard of from Me;for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”So, when they had come together, they began asking Him, saying,“ Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”But He said to them,“ It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority;but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.

But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Jesus answered and said to him,“ If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

The city shall be eighteen thousand cubits all around; and the name of the city from that day shall be,‘ The Lord is there.’ ”

So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession.

For this is what the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, says:“ I dwell in a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,“ I will dwell among them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.He will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you.All things that the Father has are Mine; this is why I said that He takes from Mine and will disclose it to you.

where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Lift up your heads, you gates, And be lifted up, you ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in!Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.Lift up your heads, you gates, And lift them up, you ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in!Who is this King of glory? The Lord of armies, He is the King of glory. Selah

[[ Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

“ But will God really dwell with mankind on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You; how much less this house which I have built!

Therefore, since He has been exalted at the right hand of God, and has received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand,Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ— this Jesus whom you crucified.”Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ Brothers, what are we to do?”Peter said to them,“ Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying,“ Be saved from this perverse generation!”So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it as His dwelling place.“ This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

Now go and learn what this means:‘ I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

even though I was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.

“ How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?Turn to my rebuke, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.

So also it is written:“ The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life giving spirit.However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You, And return on high over it.

As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this:

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever;the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.
