I hear many people whispering,“ There is terror all around him!” Many have joined together against me. They plan to kill me.But I trust in you, Lord. I say,“ You are my God.”My whole life is in your hands. Save me from the hands of my enemies. Save me from those who are chasing me.

They make me live in the darkness like those who died long ago.

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision.“ Don’t be afraid,” he said.“ Keep on speaking. Don’t be silent.I am with you. No one will attack you and harm you. I have many people in this city.”

Take good care of me, just as you would take care of your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.Save me from the sinful people who want to destroy me. Save me from my deadly enemies who are all around me.

Lord, I called out to you. I called out from the bottom of the pit.I prayed,“ Please don’t close your ears to my cry for help.” And you heard my appeal.

I looked to the Lord, and he answered me. He saved me from everything I was afraid of.
