God, you are my God. I seek you with all my heart. With all my strength I thirst for you in this dry desert where there isn’t any water.

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.

In the morning, Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.

I will say to the Lord,“ My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

But Gad the prophet said to David,“ Do not stay in the stronghold; leave, and go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went into the forest of Hereth.

Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

When your dread comes like a storm And your disaster comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently but will not find me,

When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and searched diligently for God;

I will open rivers on the bare heights, And springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land fountains of water.

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their distress they will search for Me.

For my days have ended in smoke, And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.My heart has been struck like grass and has withered, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.Because of the loudness of my groaning My bones cling to my flesh.

So look, and learn about all the hiding places where he keeps himself hidden, and return to me with certainty, and I will go with you; and if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”So they set out and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the Arabah to the south of Jeshimon.When Saul and his men went to seek him, they informed David, and he came down to the rock and stayed in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard about it, he pursued David in the wilderness of Maon.

“ On my bed night after night I sought him Whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him.‘ I must arise now and go around in the city; In the streets and in the public squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him.The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, And I said,‘ Have you seen him whom my soul loves?’

“ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord:“ I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.

“ At that time,” declares the Lord,“ I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”

Jesus* said to her,“ Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them,‘ I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’ ”

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,“ If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

The scorched land will become a pool And the thirsty ground springs of water; In the haunt of jackals, its resting place, Grass becomes reeds and rushes.

But the people were thirsty for water there; and they grumbled against Moses and said,“ Why is it that you have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

“ Now when the unclean spirit comes out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.

David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul searched for him every day, but God did not hand him over to him.Now David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life while David was in the wilderness of Ziph, at Horesh.And Jonathan, Saul’s son, set out and went to David at Horesh, and encouraged him in God.

If you will search for God And implore the compassion of the Almighty,

Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in an exhausted land.

Swear to me, you daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, As to what you will tell him: For I am lovesick.”

See, I am going to wait at the river crossing places of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”
