As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Then the prophet Gad said to David,“ Do not remain in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah.” So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth.

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.

When he killed them, they sought him; they repented and sought God earnestly.

Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, saying,“ Is not David hiding himself on the hill of Hachilah, which is on the east of Jeshimon?”So Saul arose and went down to the wilderness of Ziph with three thousand chosen men of Israel to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.And Saul encamped on the hill of Hachilah, which is beside the road on the east of Jeshimon. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.

For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread.Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh.

See therefore and take note of all the lurking places where he hides, and come back to me with sure information. Then I will go with you. And if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”And they arose and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the Arabah to the south of Jeshimon.And Saul and his men went to seek him. And David was told, so he went down to the rock and lived in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.

On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not.I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but found him not.The watchmen found me as they went about in the city.“ Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

“ At that time, declares the Lord, I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be my people.”

Jesus said to her,“ Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out,“ If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, the grass shall become reeds and rushes.

But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses and said,“ Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

“ When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

And David remained in the strongholds in the wilderness, in the hill country of the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not give him into his hand.David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph at Horesh.And Jonathan, Saul’s son, rose and went to David at Horesh, and strengthened his hand in God.

If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy,

Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him I am sick with love.

See, I will wait at the fords of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”
