My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long?

Lord— how long? Turn and have compassion on Your servants.

“ Now My soul is troubled. What should I say— Father, save Me from this hour? But that is why I came to this hour.

I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted.I think of God; I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Selah

Then He said to them,“ My soul is swallowed up in sorrow— to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with Me.”

I am faint and severely crushed; I groan because of the anguish of my heart.

Lord, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me?

A man’s spirit can endure sickness, but who can survive a broken spirit?

“ Will the Lord reject forever and never again show favor?

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed; my heart is like wax, melting within me.

Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay to help them?

Be gracious to me, Lord, because I am in distress; my eyes are worn out from angry sorrow— my whole being as well.Indeed, my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my strength has failed because of my sinfulness, and my bones waste away.

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.
