It will be all he has left because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of all your cities.The most gentle and sensitive woman among you— so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot— will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughterthe afterbirth from her womb and the children she bears. For in her dire need she intends to eat them secretly because of the suffering your enemy will inflict on you during the siege of your cities.If you do not carefully follow all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not revere this glorious and awesome name— the Lord your God—

This is what the Lord says:“ As for the prophets who lead my people astray, they proclaim‘ peace’ if they have something to eat, but prepare to wage war against anyone who refuses to feed them.

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of famine; racked with hunger, they waste away for lack of food from the field.With their own hands compassionate women have cooked their own children, who became their food when my people were destroyed.

They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, they seek their own gain.

We get our bread at the risk of our lives because of the sword in the desert.

therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

From the threshing floor? From the winepress?”Then he asked her,“ What’s the matter?” She answered,“ This woman said to me,‘ Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we’ll eat my son.’So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her,‘ Give up your son so we may eat him,’ but she had hidden him.”
