嘴唇的過錯是惡人的圈套；但義人必脫離患難。

惟起誓、欺騙、殺害、偷盜、姦淫、殘暴、流血又流血。

愚昧人的口自取敗壞，他的嘴唇是自己生命的圈套。

他滿口咒罵、詭詐、欺壓，舌底盡是毒害、奸惡。

惡人驕橫地追逼困苦人；願他們陷在自己所設的計謀裏。

我告訴你們，凡是人所說的閒話，在審判的日子，要句句供出來；因為要憑你的話定你為義，也要憑你的話定你有罪。」

詭詐的舌頭啊，他會給你甚麼呢？會加給你甚麼呢？就是勇士的利箭、羅騰木的炭火。

正直人的義必拯救自己；奸詐人必被自己的慾望纏住。

但他們越發竭力地說：「他煽動百姓，在猶太全地傳道，從加利利起，直到這裏了。」

主啊，求你將我們鄰邦所加給你的羞辱七倍歸到他們身上。

「當那日，你必不再因一切得罪我的事蒙羞，因為那時我必從你中間除掉狂喜高傲的人，在我的聖山上你也不再狂傲。

他愛咒罵，咒罵就臨到他；他不喜愛祝福，祝福就遠離他！他拿咒罵當衣服穿上；這咒罵就如水進到他裏面，如油進入他骨頭。

至於那些昂首圍困我的人，願他們嘴唇的奸惡陷害自己！願他們被丟在火中，火炭落在他們身上；願他們被拋在深坑裏，不能再起來！

你就被口中的言語套住，被嘴裏的言語抓住。

眾人都回答：「他的血歸到我們和我們的子孫身上！」

但上帝要用箭射他們，他們忽然受了傷。他們必然絆跌，被自己的舌頭所害；凡看見他們的都必搖頭。

說：「大人，我們記得那迷惑人的還活着的時候曾說：『三天後我要復活。』
