Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge people with equity?

Are you rulers really fair when you speak? Do you judge people honestly?

Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the children of man uprightly?

Justice— do you rulers know the meaning of the word? Do you judge the people fairly?

Do you indeed speak righteousness, you gods? Do you judge fairly, you sons of mankind?

Do you indeed speak righteousness, you silent ones? Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men?

Do ye indeed in silence speak righteousness? Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

Do you rulers really pronounce just decisions? Do you judge people fairly?

Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?

Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, for I take refuge in you. I will seek refuge in the shadow of your wings until danger passes.

His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, he will not execute justice by what he hears with his ears,but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a scepter from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command from his lips.Righteousness will be a belt around his hips; faithfulness will be a belt around his waist.

The LORD answered Moses,“ Bring me seventy men from Israel known to you as elders and officers of the people. Take them to the tent of meeting and have them stand there with you.

God stands in the divine assembly; he pronounces judgment among the gods:“ How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah

“ So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and set them over you as leaders: commanders for thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens, and officers for your tribes.I commanded your judges at that time: Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge rightly between a man and his brother or his resident alien.

Rescue me from my enemies, my God; protect me from those who rise up against me.

Hearing this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach. When the high priest and those who were with him arrived, they convened the Sanhedrin— the full council of the Israelites— and sent orders to the jail to have them brought.

Then he said to the judges,“ Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for a man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the matter of judgment.And now, may the terror of the LORD be on you. Watch what you do, for there is no injustice or partiality or taking bribes with the LORD our God.”

So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron. King David made a covenant with them at Hebron in the LORD’s presence, and they anointed David king over Israel.

The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me,“ The one who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,

“ Look, the days are coming”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ when I will raise up a Righteous Branch for David. He will reign wisely as king and administer justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. This is the name he will be called: The LORD Is Our Righteousness.

“ Appoint judges and officials for your tribes in all your towns the LORD your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgment.Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

I said,“ You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.However, you will die like humans and fall like any other ruler.”

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the courtyard of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas,

There was a good and righteous man named Joseph, a member of the Sanhedrin,who had not agreed with their plan and action. He was from Arimathea, a Judean town, and was looking forward to the kingdom of God.

God, give your justice to the king and your righteousness to the king’s son.He will judge your people with righteousness and your afflicted ones with justice.May the mountains bring well-being to the people and the hills, righteousness.May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor.

When daybreak came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put him to death.

Indeed, a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly.
