I am in the midst of lions; I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts— men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

我處獅中、與火性之世人共臥、其齒為戈矢、其舌為利刃兮、

仇敵環攻、如獅之吞噬、如火之燎原、斯世之人、齒若戈矢、舌若鋒刃兮。

我困於群獅間、臥於口吐火焰之人中、其人牙如槍如箭、舌如利刃、

自天降佑。莫使併吞。敵人肆虐。祈爾施恩。

Men who are like lions are all around me. I am forced to lie down among people who are like hungry animals. Their teeth are like spears and arrows. Their tongues are like sharp swords.

My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

I am surrounded by fierce lions who greedily devour human prey— whose teeth pierce like spears and arrows, and whose tongues cut like swords.

I am surrounded by lions; I lie down among devouring lions— people whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

My soul is among lions; I must lie among those who devour, Among sons of mankind whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.

those whose teeth are swords and whose jaws are set with knives to devour the poor from the earth and the needy from among mankind.

His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.

How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.

The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.

You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor.

But if you have not, let fire come out from Abimelek and consume you, the citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo, and let fire come out from you, the citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo, and consume Abimelek!”

They are like a lion hungry for prey, like a fierce lion crouching in cover.Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is one who gives false testimony against a neighbor.

Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me.I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me.My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet.

Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”“ Sir,” the woman said,“ you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?

My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.“ He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.

See what they spew from their mouths— the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think,“ Who can hear us?”
