God, in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer me in the truth of your salvation.Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.Answer me, Yahweh, for your loving kindness is good. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, turn to me.

Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.

I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.

May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past.

Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”

Who among you fears Yahweh and obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness and has no light, let him trust in Yahweh’s name, and rely on his God.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

Please let your loving kindness be for my comfort, according to your word to your servant.Let your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight.

I told him,“ My lord, you know.” He said to me,“ These are those who came out of the great suffering. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.

Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can’t be moved, but remains forever.

But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.

I cry with my voice to Yahweh. With my voice, I ask Yahweh for mercy.

Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.

Deliver me from my enemies, my God. Set me on high from those who rise up against me.

For yet a very little while, and the indignation against you will be accomplished, and my anger will be directed to his destruction.”

Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?

David therefore departed from there, and escaped to Adullam’s cave. When his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.

He came to the sheep pens by the way, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were staying in the innermost parts of the cave.

Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying,“ My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth, and showed respect.

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
