Then the presidents and the local governors sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion or fault, because he was faithful. There wasn’t any error or fault found in him.

Behold, they may gather together, but not by me. Whoever gathers together against you will fall because of you.

Doesn’t he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim their arrows, deadly words,to shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say,“ Who will see them?”They plot injustice, saying,“ We have made a perfect plan!” Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.

He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless when he draws him in his net.The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.
