於是直窺探着，差遣偵察，自己裝做好人，要在他的話語上抓得把柄，好拿他送交在統治官的管理和權柄之下。就詰問他說：『先生，我們曉得、你都說得對，教訓得對；你不取外貌，你只憑真誠教授上帝的道路。

人人跟鄰舍說虛謊話；他們說話、是嘴脣油滑、存兩樣心的。

人彼此商議、專要從他的尊位上把他推下。他們喜悅謊話：口雖祝福，心卻咒詛。（細拉）

怨恨人的用嘴掩飾，心裏卻存着詭詐；他雖說出溫雅的話，你不可信他，因為他心中有七樣可厭惡的；他雖裝模作樣去遮掩恨心，其邪惡總會在公會中露現出的。

有的人說話鹵莽，如刀刺人；但智慧人的舌頭能醫治人。
