Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray.

To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,

So Cornelius said,“ Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

So they answered and said before the king,“ That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.”

But to You I have cried out, O Lord, And in the morning my prayer comes before You.

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,saying:“ There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying,‘ Get justice for me from my adversary.’And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself,‘ Though I do not fear God nor regard man,yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’”Then the Lord said,“ Hear what the unjust judge said.And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him,“ Cornelius!”

Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed them by.

Even when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.

“ If I cry out concerning wrong, I am not heard. If I cry aloud, there is no justice.
