While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he also sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, to come from Giloh, his hometown. And so the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept on increasing. (niv)

Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Even with the woman who lies in your embrace guard the words of your lips. (niv)

Now in those days the advice Ahithophel gave was like that of one who inquires of God. That was how both David and Absalom regarded all of Ahithophel’s advice. (niv)

While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him,but Jesus asked him,“ Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” (niv)

But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. (niv)

When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement( which in Aramaic is Gabbatha). (niv)

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them:“ The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.”Going at once to Jesus, Judas said,“ Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.Jesus replied,“ Do what you came for, friend.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.
