“看哪，这个人不把神当作自己的保障，他依靠自己丰盛的财富，靠自己的奸恶得胜。”

曰、試觀斯人、不以上帝為力、惟恃多財、以惡自固兮、

曰、彼其之子、輕上帝之能力、恃一己之貨財、強悍作惡兮、

云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

誰知天網恢恢兮。將滅爾以終古。逐爾於家室之外兮。除爾於永生之圃。

商人手持詭詐的天平，喜愛欺壓。以法蓮說：我果然富有，得了財寶；我所勞碌得來的一切，人必找不到我有甚麼可算為有罪的惡

耶和華如此說：「倚靠人，以血肉為膀臂，心中離棄耶和華的，那人該受詛咒！

你實在把他們安放在滑地，使他們跌倒滅亡；他們轉眼之間成了何等荒涼！他們被驚恐滅盡了。人睡醒了，怎樣看夢，主啊，你醒了也必照樣輕看他們的影像。

沒有人能掌握生命，將生命留住；也沒有人有權力掌管死期。這場爭戰無人能免；邪惡也不能救那行邪惡的人。

耶穌出來，戴着荊棘冠冕，穿着紫袍。彼拉多對他們說：「看哪，這個人！」

他們那些倚靠財貨，自誇錢財多的人，沒有一個能贖自己的弟兄，能將贖價給上帝，讓他長遠活着，不見地府；因為贖生命的價值極貴，只可永遠罷休。

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的上帝。

人真是虛空，人真是虛假；放在天平裏就必浮起，他們一共比空氣還輕。不要仗勢欺人，也不要因搶奪而驕傲；若財寶加增，不要放在心上。

凡看見你的都要定睛望你，留意看你，說：『就是這個人嗎？他使大地顫抖，使列國震動，使世界如同荒野，使城鎮傾覆；是他，不釋放被擄的人歸家。』

他們的眼睛因體胖而凸出，他們的內心放任不羈。他們譏笑人，憑惡意說欺壓人的話。他們說話自高；他們的口褻瀆上天，他們的舌毀謗全地。所以他的百姓歸到這裏，享受滿杯的水。他們說：「上帝怎能曉得？至高者哪會知道呢？」

你們不要倚靠君王，不要倚靠世人，他一點也不能幫助。他的氣一斷，就歸回塵土，他所打算的，當日就消滅了。以雅各的上帝為幫助、仰望耶和華－他上帝的，這人有福了！
