曰、彼其之子、輕上帝之能力、恃一己之貨財、強悍作惡兮、

云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

誰知天網恢恢兮。將滅爾以終古。逐爾於家室之外兮。除爾於永生之圃。

商人手持诡诈的天平，喜爱欺压。以法莲说：我果然富有，得了财宝；我所劳碌得来的一切，人必找不到我有什么可算为有罪的恶。

耶和华如此说：“倚靠人，以血肉为膀臂，心中离弃耶和华的，那人该受诅咒！

你实在把他们安放在滑地，使他们跌倒灭亡；他们转眼之间成了何等荒凉！他们被惊恐灭尽了。人睡醒了，怎样看梦，主啊，你醒了也必照样轻看他们的影像。

没有人能掌握生命，将生命留住；也没有人有权力掌管死期。这场争战无人能免；邪恶也不能救那行邪恶的人。

耶稣出来，戴着荆棘冠冕，穿着紫袍。彼拉多对他们说：“看哪，这个人！”

他们那些倚靠财货，自夸钱财多的人，没有一个能赎自己的弟兄，能将赎价给上帝，让他长远活着，不见地府；因为赎生命的价值极贵，只可永远罢休。

至于那些今世富足的人，你要嘱咐他们不要自高，也不要倚赖靠不住的钱财；要倚靠那厚赐万物给我们享受的上帝。

人真是虚空，人真是虚假；放在天平里就必浮起，他们一共比空气还轻。不要仗势欺人，也不要因抢夺而骄傲；若财宝加增，不要放在心上。

凡看见你的都要定睛望你，留意看你，说：‘就是这个人吗？他使大地颤抖，使列国震动，使世界如同荒野，使城镇倾覆；是他，不释放被掳的人归家。’

他们的眼睛因体胖而凸出，他们的内心放任不羁。他们讥笑人，凭恶意说欺压人的话。他们说话自高；他们的口亵渎上天，他们的舌毁谤全地。所以他的百姓归到这里，享受满杯的水。他们说：“上帝怎能晓得？至高者哪会知道呢？”

你们不要倚靠君王，不要倚靠世人，他一点也不能帮助。他的气一断，就归回尘土，他所打算的，当日就消灭了。以雅各的上帝为帮助、仰望耶和华—他上帝的，这人有福了！
