云、不仰賴天主保護、惟恃己之多財、盡力作惡者、即是此人、

誰知天網恢恢兮。將滅爾以終古。逐爾於家室之外兮。除爾於永生之圃。

This is what the LORD says: Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind. He makes human flesh his strength, and his heart turns from the LORD.

Indeed, you put them in slippery places; you make them fall into ruin.How suddenly they become a desolation! They come to an end, swept away by terrors.Like one waking from a dream, Lord, when arising, you will despise their image.

No one has authority over the wind to restrain it, and there is no authority over the day of death; no one is discharged during battle, and wickedness will not allow those who practice it to escape.

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.

Common people are only a vapor; important people, an illusion. Together on a scale, they weigh less than a vapor.Place no trust in oppression or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, don’t set your heart on it.

Those who see you will stare at you; they will look closely at you:“ Is this the man who caused the earth to tremble, who shook the kingdoms,who turned the world into a wilderness, who destroyed its cities and would not release the prisoners to return home?”

Their eyes bulge out from fatness; the imaginations of their hearts run wild.They mock, and they speak maliciously; they arrogantly threaten oppression.They set their mouths against heaven, and their tongues strut across the earth.Therefore his people turn to them and drink in their overflowing words.The wicked say,“ How can God know? Does the Most High know everything?”
