Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

You are the God who saves me. I have committed murder. God, take away my guilt. Then my tongue will sing about how right you are no matter what you do.

Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.

Save me from the guilt of bloodshed, God— God of my salvation— and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.

Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.

For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!

Yet you have been righteous in all that has come upon us, for you have dealt faithfully and we have acted wickedly.

And Reuben answered them,“ Did I not tell you not to sin against the boy? But you did not listen. So now there comes a reckoning for his blood.”

Afterward, when David heard of it, he said,“ I and my kingdom are forever guiltless before the Lord for the blood of Abner the son of Ner.

To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, those who are near and those who are far away, in all the lands to which you have driven them, because of the treachery that they have committed against you.

I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all,
