Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his[ days] be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard[ it].Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge,[ shall not he know]?The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they[ are] vanity.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether[ it be] good, or whether[ it be] evil.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

I have long time holden my peace; I have been still,[ and] refrained myself:[ now] will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

God[ is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do[ it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Let favour be shewed to the wicked,[ yet] will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings,[ to have been] continually before me.
