Every animal in the forest already belongs to me. And so do the cattle on a thousand hills.

With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.

How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small.

The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

“ Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly!Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like rods of iron.It ranks first among the works of God, yet its Maker can approach it with his sword.The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.Under the lotus plants it lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh.The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it.A raging river does not alarm it; it is secure, though the Jordan should surge against its mouth.Can anyone capture it by the eyes, or trap it and pierce its nose?

Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.

“ But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.

So God has taken away your father’s livestock and has given them to me.

He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate— bringing forth food from the earth:
