Should I not be even more concerned about Nineveh, this enormous city? There are more than one hundred twenty thousand people in it who do not know right from wrong, as well as many animals!”

“ I made the earth and the people and animals on it by my mighty power and great strength, and I give it to whomever I see fit.I have at this time placed all these nations of yours under the power of my servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I have even made all the wild animals subject to him.

How many living things you have made, O LORD! You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; the earth is full of the living things you have made.Over here is the deep, wide sea, which teems with innumerable swimming creatures, living things both small and large.

Bring out with you all the living creatures that are with you. Bring out every living thing, including the birds, animals, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Let them increase and be fruitful and multiply on the earth!”

Wherever human beings, wild animals, and birds of the sky live– he has given them into your power. He has given you authority over them all. You are the head of gold.

God said,“ Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: cattle, creeping things, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” It was so.God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their kinds, and all the creatures that creep along the ground according to their kinds. Every living creature of the earth and every bird of the sky will be terrified of you. Everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea are under your authority.You may eat any moving thing that lives. As I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

“ Look now at Behemoth, which I made as I made you; it eats grass like the ox.Look at its strength in its loins, and its power in the muscles of its belly.It makes its tail stiff like a cedar, the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like bars of iron.It ranks first among the works of God, the One who made it has furnished it with a sword.For the hills bring it food, where all the wild animals play.Under the lotus trees it lies, in the secrecy of the reeds and the marsh.The lotus trees conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream conceal it.If the river rages, it is not disturbed, it is secure, though the Jordan should surge up to its mouth.Can anyone catch it by its eyes, or pierce its nose with a snare?

The LORD God formed out of the ground every living animal of the field and every bird of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them, and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.

“ But who am I and who are my people, that we should be in a position to contribute this much? Indeed, everything comes from you, and we have simply given back to you what is yours.For we are resident foreigners and nomads in your presence, like all our ancestors; our days are like a shadow on the earth, without security.O LORD our God, all this wealth, which we have collected to build a temple for you to honor your holy name, comes from you; it all belongs to you.

In this way God has snatched away your father’s livestock and given them to me.

He provides grass for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, so they can produce food from the ground,
