彼眾口無信實、心懷惡慝、喉若裂塋、舌施諂諛、

彼敵人、心懷惡念兮、口尚虛詞、喉似破塋兮、舌則諂諛是施。

彼口中無正直、心懷奸惡、喉如陷坑、舌如油渦、

求主保我身。莫為敵所得。平易爾道路。扶我庶無蹶。

Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over[ them] are not aware[ of them].

The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,[ that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.The words of his mouth[ are] iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise,[ and] to do good.He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way[ that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Surely men of low degree[ are] vanity,[ and] men of high degree[ are] a lie: to be laid in the balance, they[ are] altogether[ lighter] than vanity.

Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.For I know not to give flattering titles;[ in so doing] my maker would soon take me away.

They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward[ thought] of every one[ of them], and the heart,[ is] deep.

They speak vanity every one with his neighbour:[ with] flattering lips[ and] with a double heart do they speak.The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips,[ and] the tongue that speaketh proud things:

Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with[ my] whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and[ in] the congregation.The works of the LORD[ are] great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.His work[ is] honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God[ is] witness:

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

The heart[ is] deceitful above all[ things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?
