上帝住在城裡，城必屹立不倒。天一亮，上帝必幫助這城。

上帝啊，我們親耳聽過祖先講述你在古時，在我們祖先時代的作為。你親手趕出外族，把我們的祖先安置在那裡；你擊潰列邦，使我們的祖先興旺發達。

是我們所聞所知、世代流傳下來的事。我們不要在子孫面前隱瞞事實，要把耶和華當受稱頌的作為、祂的權能和所行的奇事告訴下一代。因為祂為雅各制定法度，為以色列設立律法，又吩咐我們的祖先把這些律法傳給兒女，好讓他們也照樣教導自己的子孫後代，世代相傳。
