My beloved spoke, and said to me,“ Rise up, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.For behold, the winter is past. The rain is over and gone.The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.The fig tree ripens her green figs. The vines are in blossom. They give out their fragrance. Now Yahweh said to Abram,“ Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.

Therefore“‘ Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord.‘ Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters,’ says the Lord Almighty.”Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

“ If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.

She shall take off the clothing of her captivity, and shall remain in your house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month. After that you shall go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.

Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.

I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

He said of his father, and of his mother,‘ I have not seen him.’ He didn’t acknowledge his brothers, nor did he know his own children; for they have observed your word, and keep your covenant.
