O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.”

Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who seek to destroy my life; Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor Who wish me evil.

Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart.”Then Jonathan said,“ Very well, let us cross over to these men, and we will show ourselves to them.If they say thus to us,‘ Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place and not go up to them.But if they say thus,‘ Come up to us,’ then we will go up. For the Lord has delivered them into our hand, and this will be a sign to us.”

And the Lord said to Joshua,“ Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.”Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly, having marched all night from Gilgal.So the Lord routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously,

So the children of Israel said to Samuel,“ Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel.And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car.Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying,“ Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

But the Lord said to Joshua,“ Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”

And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.

But the Lord said to Gideon,“ The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.”So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon,“ Everyone who laps from the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set apart by himself; likewise everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.”And the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people got down on their knees to drink water.Then the Lord said to Gideon,“ By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, every man to his place.”

All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.
