Selah.Do unto them as[ unto] the Midianites; as[ to] Sisera, as[ to] Jabin, at the brook of Kison:[ Which] perished at Endor: they became[ as] dung for the earth.Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:That[ men] may know that thou, whose name alone[ is] JEHOVAH,[ art] the most high over all the earth.

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for[ there is] no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that[ is] in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I[ am] with thee according to thy heart.Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto[ these] men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this[ shall be] a sign unto us.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly,[ and] went up from Gilgal all night.And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered[ it for] a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until[ they came] under Bethcar.Then Samuel took a stone, and set[ it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle[ is] the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for tomorrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people[ are] yet[ too] many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be,[ that] of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.And the number of them that lapped,[ putting] their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the[ other] people go every man unto his place.

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.
