爾奚掩面、忘我所受之苦與虐兮、

奚棄予如遺、不顧我憂患兮、

因何掩面不顧、因何忘我所遭之苦難、所受之欺凌、

興矣吾恩主。奚為尚睡着。興矣毋永棄。我將淪死谷。

Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression?

Why do you turn your face away from us? Why do you forget our pain and troubles?

Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?

Why do you look the other way? Why do you ignore our suffering and oppression?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face,[ and] forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.

Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle- dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

Why standest thou afar off, O Jehovah? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: Oh deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.For thou art the God of my strength; why hast thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?Oh send out thy light and thy truth; let them lead me: Let them bring me unto thy holy hill, And to thy tabernacles.Then will I go unto the altar of God, Unto God my exceeding joy; And upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.

And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.

And it came to pass in the course of those many days, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God?Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.

He saith in his heart: God hath forgotten; He hideth his face, he will never see it.
