爾施大力、降災於異邦而驅逐之兮、爾使選民、安居厥所兮、

主手驅逐異邦人、栽培我列祖、將彼滅絕、使我列祖蕃衍、

吾主古時恩。先輩遞相述。吾儕耳所聞。聖跡何烈烈。

With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish.

By your power you drove out the nations. You gave our people homes in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;

You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

In order to plant them, you displaced the nations by your hand; in order to settle them, you brought disaster on the peoples.

You with Your own hand drove out the nations; Then You planted them; You afflicted the peoples, Then You let them go free.

You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.

Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand; But them thou didst plant: Thou didst afflict the peoples; But them thou didst spread abroad.

to plant them, You drove out the nations with Your hand; to settle them, You crushed the peoples.

[ How] thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them;[ how] thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.

He drove the nations out from before them; he assigned them their tribal allotments and allowed the tribes of Israel to settle down.

You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, in the place you made for your residence, O Lord, the sanctuary, O LORD, that your hands have established.

He defeated many nations, and killed mighty kings–Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan.He gave their land as an inheritance, as an inheritance to Israel his people.

When the LORD your God brings you to the land that you are going to occupy and forces out many nations before you– Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and powerful than you–

Joshua captured in one campaign all these kings and their lands, for the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.You cleared the ground for it; it took root, and filled the land.The mountains were covered by its shadow, the highest cedars by its branches.Its branches reached the Mediterranean Sea, and its shoots the Euphrates River.

He handed the territory of nations over to them, and they took possession of what other peoples had produced,

So the LORD gave Israel all the land he had solemnly promised to their ancestors, and they conquered it and lived in it.

Joshua conquered the whole land, just as the LORD had promised Moses, and he assigned Israel their tribal portions. Then the land was free of war.

I sent terror ahead of you to drive out before you the two Amorite kings. I gave you the victory; it was not by your swords or bows.

Then they presented the Israelites with a discouraging report of the land they had investigated, saying,“ The land that we passed through to investigate is a land that devours its inhabitants. All the people we saw there are of great stature.

“ You gave them kingdoms and peoples, and you allocated them to every corner of the land. They inherited the land of King Sihon of Heshbon and the land of King Og of Bashan.You multiplied their descendants like the stars of the sky. You brought them to the land you had told their ancestors to enter in order to possess.Their descendants entered and possessed the land. You subdued before them the Canaanites who were the inhabitants of the land. You delivered them into their hand, together with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with as they pleased.They captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses full of all sorts of good things– wells previously dug, vineyards, olive trees, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate until they were full and grew fat. They enjoyed to the full your great goodness.“ Nonetheless they grew disobedient and rebelled against you; they disregarded your law. They killed your prophets who had solemnly admonished them in order to cause them to return to you. They committed atrocious blasphemies.Therefore you delivered them into the hand of their adversaries, who oppressed them. But in the time of their distress they called to you, and you heard from heaven. In your abundant compassion you provided them with deliverers to rescue them from their adversaries.

I will send hornets before you that will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite before you.

The LORD attacked the residents of Ashdod severely, bringing devastation on them. He struck the people of both Ashdod and the surrounding area with sores.When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said,“ The ark of the God of Israel should not remain with us, for he has attacked both us and our god Dagon!”

I will establish a place for my people Israel and settle them there; they will live there and not be disturbed any more. Violent men will not oppress them again, as they did in the beginning

For the horses of Pharaoh came with his chariots and his footmen into the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.”

“ Obey what I am commanding you this day. I am going to drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Joshua continued,“ This is how you will know the living God is among you and that he will truly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.

to the one who struck down great kings, for his loyal love endures,and killed powerful kings, for his loyal love endures,Sihon, king of the Amorites, for his loyal love endures,Og, king of Bashan, for his loyal love endures,and gave their land as an inheritance, for his loyal love endures,as an inheritance to Israel his servant, for his loyal love endures,

As they fled from Israel on the slope leading down from Beth Horon, the LORD threw down on them large hailstones from the sky, all the way to Azekah. They died– in fact, more died from the hailstones than the Israelites killed with the sword.
