But you crushed us and made us a haunt for jackals; you covered us over with deep darkness.

你在豺狼出沒的地方壓碎我們，使死亡的陰影籠罩我們。

但你竟在野狗之地把我們壓傷了，又以死亡的陰影籠罩我們。

你卻在野狗之處壓傷了我們，又用漆黑的幽暗淹沒了我們。

然而你在豺狗出沒之地壓垮我們，用死蔭籠罩我們。

爾於野犬之處、壓我維甚、蔽以陰翳兮、

爾加以重傷、野犬環繞、陰翳蔽目兮。

主乃將我儕推入龍蛇穴內、以死之陰翳遮蔽我儕、

吾心何曾貳。遵命何曾忒。

But you crushed us and left us to the wild dogs. You covered us over with deep darkness.

yet you have broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.

Yet you have crushed us in the jackal’s desert home. You have covered us with darkness and death.

But you have crushed us in a haunt of jackals and have covered us with deepest darkness.

Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals And covered us with deep darkness.

But You have severely broken us in the place of jackals, And covered us with the shadow of death.

That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, And covered us with the shadow of death.

But You have crushed us in a haunt of jackals and have covered us with deepest darkness.

Yet you have battered us, leaving us a heap of ruins overrun by wild dogs; you have covered us with darkness.

May gloom and utter darkness claim it once more; may a cloud settle over it; may blackness overwhelm it.

You have rejected us, God, and burst upon us; you have been angry— now restore us!You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger.

It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave it as food to the creatures of the desert.

In that day, the Lord will punish with his sword— his fierce, great and powerful sword— Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

I am feeble and utterly crushed; I groan in anguish of heart.

The great dragon was hurled down— that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

Thorns will overrun her citadels, nettles and brambles her strongholds. She will become a haunt for jackals, a home for owls.Desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and wild goats will bleat to each other; there the night creatures will also lie down and find for themselves places of rest.

before I go to the place of no return, to the land of gloom and utter darkness,to the land of deepest night, of utter darkness and disorder, where even the light is like darkness.”

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony

The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.

The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.

I have become a brother of jackals, a companion of owls.
