終日凌辱在我前、羞慚蔽我面、

予聞仇敵欺侮予、凌辱予、終日愧恥、自蒙厥面兮、

我所受之凌辱、終日在我面前、我之羞愧、蒙蔽我臉、

貽笑於異國。冷嘲與熱罵。令我心如結。

I live in disgrace all day long, and my face is covered with shame

All day long I have to live with my shame. My face is covered with it.

We can’t escape the constant humiliation; shame is written across our faces.

My disgrace is before me all day long, and shame has covered my face,

All day long my dishonor is before me And I am covered with my humiliation,

My dishonor is continually before me, And the shame of my face has covered me,

All the day long is my dishonor before me, And the shame of my face hath covered me,

My disgrace is before me all day long, and shame has covered my face,

My confusion[ is] continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

All day long I feel humiliated and am overwhelmed with shame,

All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,

For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonor has covered my face.

You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. Selah

May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt.

‘ We are put to shame, for we have heard reproach; dishonor has covered our face, for foreigners have come into the holy places of the Lord’s house.’

saying:“ O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.

And Joshua said,“ Alas, O Lord God, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to give us into the hands of the Amorites, to destroy us? Would that we had been content to dwell beyond the Jordan!O Lord, what can I say, when Israel has turned their backs before their enemies!For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?”

And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword.

Let us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”
