我要對神我的巖石說：「你為什麼忘記了我呢？我為什麼要在仇敵的壓迫下哀痛而行呢？」

我向上帝我磐石曰、爾何為忘我、我何為因敵之虐、而哀痛兮、

曰、我之上帝、如我岡巒、何遺我兮、何為敵人虐我、使予殷憂兮、

我向天主云、我倚主如磐、因何忘我、因何使我受仇敵凌虐、時常悲哀、

追念昔日兮。慈恩何富。朝承主之恩澤兮。暮抒予之仰慕。

I say to God my Rock,“ Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?”

I say to God my Rock,“ Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go around in sorrow? Why am I treated so badly by my enemies?”

I say to God, my rock:“ Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”

“ O God my rock,” I cry,“ why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?”

Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.

Remember, Yahweh, what has come on us. Look, and see our reproach.Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to aliens.We are orphans and fatherless. Our mothers are as widows.We have drunken our water for money. Our wood is sold to us.Our pursuers are on our necks. We are weary, and have no rest.We have given our hands to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.Our fathers sinned, and are no more. We have borne their iniquities.Servants rule over us. There is no one to deliver us out of their hand.We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.They ravished the women in Zion, the virgins in the cities of Judah.Princes were hanged up by their hands. The faces of elders were not honored.The young men carry millstones. The children stumbled under loads of wood.The elders have ceased from the gate, and the young men from their music.The joy of our heart has ceased. Our dance is turned into mourning.The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!

When I looked for good, then evil came. When I waited for light, darkness came.My heart is troubled, and doesn’t rest. Days of affliction have come on me.I go mourning without the sun. I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.I am a brother to jackals, and a companion to ostriches.My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat.Therefore my harp has turned to mourning, and my pipe into the voice of those who weep.

My eyes are dim from grief. I have called on you daily, Yahweh. I have spread out my hands to you.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.

They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.

Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they bring suffering on me. In anger they hold a grudge against me.

He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken.

Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel,“ My way is hidden from Yahweh, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?”

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!

How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

To you, Yahweh, I call. My rock, don’t be deaf to me, lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit.

Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.My salvation and my honor is with God. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?” Selah.
