救我於深淵、出我於淤泥、使我固立、若處重巖兮。

從陷坑淤泥中將我救援、使我之足立於磐上、俾我步履安穩、

小子所仰望。惟在聖主躬。主已應我求。呼籲達宸聰。

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

I was sliding down into the pit of death, and he pulled me out. He brought me up out of the mud and dirt. He set my feet on a rock. He gave me a firm place to stand on.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure.

A man’s steps are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.

For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.

I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me.

For the enemy pursues my soul. He has struck my life down to the ground. He has made me live in dark places, as those who have been long dead.

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.You made known to me the ways of life. You have enlarged my steps under me, My feet have not slipped.

“ Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.

From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

My steps have held fast to your paths. My feet have not slipped.

For your loving kindness is great toward me. You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water.

The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.

He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters.He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me.

The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God.

Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon( the king was then sitting in Benjamin’s gate),Ebedmelech went out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,“ My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon. He is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.”Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying,“ Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.”So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there rags and worn- out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah,“ Now put these rags and worn- out garments under your armpits under the cords.” Jeremiah did so.

and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.”

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me.Waters flowed over my head. I said,“ I am cut off.”I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon.

They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and after many days they will be visited.
