He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

I was sliding down into the pit of death, and he pulled me out. He brought me up out of the mud and dirt. He set my feet on a rock. He gave me a firm place to stand on.

主固善人步。喜其行中度。

我當患難日。必蒙藏其室。納我於幔角。置我於磐石。

水氾濫兮侵魂。求吾主兮來援。

根深柢固。信道彌堅。莫使謬種。長我心田。

敵人正相逼。我命逐塵土。猶如陳死人。寂寂度長暮。

爾將保吾魂、弗使淪窅冥。寧容聖者軀、沾染朽腐痕。指我生命路、飫我承顏欣。諸兄弟乎！容我直言不諱、先祖大維逝且葬矣、其墓至今猶在。大維先知也、自知曾蒙天主許誓、其後裔必有登其寶座者、故憑其先見而論基督復活、謂其心靈固不淪於窅冥、而其身軀亦不遭朽腐也。

賜我以衛身之盾。佑我以聖手之力。沐我以仁。浴我以澤。滋茂條暢。實憑主德。

是以聞道而能篤實履踐者、譬諸有識者建屋於磐石之上、雨降潦行、颶風倏起、相與衝而擊之、而其屋屹然不動者、其基固也。

予惟吾主兮是怙。求主及時兮祐護。按爾之仁兮。聽予之訴。依爾之信兮。鑒予之苦。拔我兮泥中。脫我兮諸兇。

我之哀訴。求主垂顧。

兢兢履主道。未嘗循邪枉。

主之待我。恩德不小。拯吾之身。出於泉窖。

天主為解苦厄、使之復活、死固不足以限之也。

吾生歷憂患。皆為主所賜。所以玉我成。所以示微意。行見主霽怒。引我出死地。

長跪白我主。惟主可庇身。茫茫塵海裏。主是我乾坤。我今處絕境。顚沛亦已甚。群小相窘辱。其勢一何猛。

曩日罹危難。羅網周圍布。憂心信如結。性命瀕陰府。

地基暴露。江海成陸。主乃引手而相援兮。濟吾身於狂流。

投諸洪爐、將有哀哭切齒者焉。
